For my latest secret squirrel project I decided that a turk's head knot would look the biz... I just needed to learn how to do them!
Google gave me a number of videos that I tried to follow along with, & I'd be ok for a while, then it would go tits up.
I turned to my leather braiding book... again I was able to follow along until the last step & then "Huh?!"
Fortunately it also had a pattern you could trace out, put around a cylinder & follow along:


I tried it & lo'n'behold it worked! Once you've completed the pattern you just follow the original path as many times & you want to build up the knot:

Now I just need to practice some more!

Well I can't claim to be an expert, & I have no idea if the know is period but if people are interested in knowing how to do I I don't mind showing them.

I didn't know I wanted to learn them at 12th Night! lol
Well that tutorial makes it look way easier than the ones I found... shame it didn't turn up when I Googled!
