House choices
May. 5th, 2010 08:25 pmSo the picking of the backsplash was not nearly the drama I thought it was going to be... turns out on the the small tile was discontinued... the 13.5" one isn't... YAY! So we are going with the same tiles as I chose before (base tile & black slate in the corners) we are just changing the layout.
Here are the choices I made, of course the colours wont be exact but it kinda gives you an idea!
OK first we have the inteior choices from Hawthorne (the wood is a sample from Legacy, the kitchen cabinet people).
Here's the kitchen combo... countertop on the left, backsplash on the right... the black slate is very similar to the black accent tile that's there.

This is the tile for around the fireplace... it's darker in real life!

Foyer & mudroom tile with hardwood flooring... the tile has a stone look in browns & greens... looks like it has relief but is actually flat = easy to clean!

Upstairs combo, carpet & bathroom tile... the carpets are actually much closer in colour than they look... the small sample has a much deeper pile. I am thinking of going upgrading the carpet to one that doesn't need stain prevention treatments... it would be a shorter pile version of the small sample.

Now we're at Hardwood Gallery to actually choose the hardwood I'll actually have.

Then it was off to Signature Lighting, yes it was a busy afternoon!
I pretty much stuck with the standard lights.
The kitchen has pot lights.
Dining room

By the fireplace

In the bonus room (but in pewter of course!)

Your standard dome light in various sizes in the bedrooms, mudroom, hallways, walk in closet, pantry, etc.

A 3 in the main bathroom, a 2 in the downstairs 1/2 bath and 2x 2 in the ensuite, one by each basin

By the back doors

Click to make the pictures bigger as per usual! :)
Oh and in case you were wondering about the spice trim & the flooring that went with it, here it is:

And here's a side by side comparison of the spice & honey stains

(that's an unstained pine table in the background)
