Horsemen in the Afghan capital, Kabul, compete in the game of Buzkashi, in which two teams flight to throw the carcass of a goat into a scoring circle.

According to Wikipedia a non-mounted version is already played in the SCA.

I heard there's a version called Bukkashi, except you're not trying to toss a goat.

We did a version of that in Cold Keep quite a while back... We had people in armour, on foot, taking out our "goat" (he was sewn and stuffed) and bringing it back to the center goal. Needless to say, it got wildly out of control and Baron Magnus wound up with a concussion. It was pretty crazy to watch, too!
