Yeah, there's a real stigma about the accordion which is very interesting. I found the same attitude about karaoke actually! Some music and musical instruments act as upwardly mobile... some drag you down! The societal constructs really interest me. In this case, the accordionist is from Eastern Europe where it's a more valid art form but I often wonder how easy it is to market to Canadian audiences. I hope to find out!
