Shooting people...

quixote317 has recently posted a question on our local list to find out what he'd need to do to get battle ready so he can shoot people at Quad War. I too would like to shoot people at future Quads. Now there's a reason I'm not a heavy fighter... one blow in the wrong spots & I'd be out of commission very easily due to an uncooperative spine. I don't want to start a whole new discussion because I'm sure it's been talked to death, all I want to know are the FACTS... what exactly happened with regard to light fighters... was it a "you shalt not have lights" (yes pun intended)?... did they give a reason?... if I decided to go into battle & yield before anyone hit me, is that a realistic thing to consider or am I likely to get hit by mistake?... what would I need to do to be allowed on the field?I know that to those of you not in the SCA this post was all in greek! ;)
