I *can* haz Spring!

Seeing as it's far from being Spring outside I figured I'd bring a little Spring inside...


Nothing says spring quite like daffs! :)


I've always loved orchids & I was planning on buying one to go in the corner by the new corner bath in the ensuite but I hadn't been able to make up my mind which one to get. My sister solved this dilemma by buying me one as a housewarming gift :)


Now for some reason the normal setting on my camera brings out the blue tones in the flowers (the background wall colour is fairly accurate) but if I use the "foliage" setting I get a yellowing effect that brings out the pinks. So the actual colour is something in between these two:

I was given an orchid last year the flowered and then went to leaf. When I wasn't watching it grew two more leaves, and has now put out another flower stalk. I look forward to the blooms.

We listen to the AM770 gardening show on Sunday morning and Barry Erskine says you should remove the moss from the orchids. I've been thinking about buying one but I have way more luck with outdoor plants.
