Well I was just about to call it a night on Thursday, figured I'd give myself an early night, when my sister called saying she'd been sick 7 times in the last 2 hours. She wanted to go to a walk-in clinic but didn't trust herself to drive.
1/2 later I was at her place ready to pick her up... we headed down to the medical centre on 8th & 8th & arrived at about 10 pm. We sat there... & sat there... if it hadn't been fot the fact that a) there were red flecks in what she threw up that looked disturbingly like blood & b) she needed a doctors note because she didn't think she'd make the midterm exam on Friday, we'd have gone home.
At about 2 am she's finally gets called through, that's about an average of an hour per patient ahead of her. She's been relatively ok during the wait... only thrown up once but that's mainly because she crashed out across 3 seats! An hour & a half later I figure that maybe there's something up as she's not reappeared, then low & behold there she is... only to tell me that she's going to have to have an IV put in because the doc's worried about her blood pressure. So I went & sat with her while saline solution rushed into a vein... holy crap did the bag empty fast!
Having found no reason for her being ill but happy with her blood pressure once again, we were told she could go home. Sick note in hand we finally made it out of there at around 4 am. Needless to say I didn't make it to work on Friday... well someone had to keep her company while she sat on the couch in recovery mode all day! ;)
